Celery Juice

Now let me just say……… celery is not one of my favorites. Never has been, and the thought of drinking celery grossed me out. So if you’re right there with me… keep reading, it’s worth it!

 

Celery has become a trendy food that is touted for all of its health benefits, especially when juiced! You could very well eat celery and get the same benefits, but with juicing it, you can drink an entire ‘bunch’ in a matter of minutes rather than eating an entire ‘bunch’ all day long!

CELERY IS HEALING FOR THE GI TRACT

so it promotes healthy digestion of foods! By increasing hydrochloric acid, your gut is able to digest foods quicker and boosts our energy level! Plus, celery increases our gastric mucus levels to help with ulcers and acid reflux. Who knew?!

CELERY JUICE CAN LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE

by improving the flow of calcium and potassium which allows our blood vessels to be more efficient at expanding and contracting with ease.

CELERY HELPS GIVE YOU AN IMMUNITY BOOST

Give me alllll the immunity tricks! With antimicrobial properties and added benefits for your digestive system, you’ll be sitting pretty with properties that fight infection and help flush out disease.

CELERY IS FULL OF NUTRIENT-DENSE GOODNESS

For example…. folate, potassium, vitamin B6, vitamin K and vitamin C. It’s incredibly good for your skin, and luteolin in celery prevents UV-induced damage.

CELERY HELPS PROTECT THE LIVER

Helps reduce fat build-up in the liver and helps produce enzymes in the liver that are responsible for flushing out toxins! YES!

CELERY ACTS AS AN ANTI-INFLAMMATORY

Celery has Polyacetylene which can help with chronic joint pain, gout, and even rheumatoid arthritis.

THIS IS WONDERFUL AND ALL, BUT HONESTLY, HOW POWERFUL IS CELERY?

I’ve been drinking celery juice (1 entire bunch, juiced) pretty consistently, first thing every morning. It’s usually between 10-16oz. I started out by using a blender and then squeezing the juice out with a cheesecloth… as I saw how much this was beneficial for my body, I couldn’t resist and bought a juicer, purely to make it easier! 

My digestion has improved immensely. Less bloating and inflammation in my stomach, more energy and focus (yes I really can tell a difference!). Foods that used to make my stomach upset or cause indigestion do not give me the same reaction anymore. Here’s the big one… my eczema/contact dermatits is almost gone. You know what that tells me?! My GI tract and liver were severely impacted by toxins and processed foods in my body that were clogging up my system and causing inflammation on my skin. Everything must have been so clogged, that my organs were unable to filter out most of the bad gunk without help, especially the yucky stuff that had been sitting there for who knows how long… 

 

Seriously though, celery juice can positively impact your health, might even be the missing link like me! 100% believe you’ll see a positive difference, so what do you have to lose?!
